From a young age, Laura enjoyed cooking and teaching. Helping to tend the family garden, well that wasn't at the top of her list! However, she did grow to enjoy shelling peas with Nana & Papa, shelling pecans for those delicious holiday season confections, and slurping the fresh spring okra that stewed over tomatoes for hours on the stovetop.
These days, Laura runs a boutique catering company in North Florida, and offers a wide variety of custom event menus for all types of events.
Committed to growing the health of her own child, she recognizes the vast importance of student education in food production and preparation for consumption. "All kids should know where food comes from and how to cook healthfully. I hope that students can learn the joy of preparing food for others."
